Sony SNC-RX550N - Overview

The Sony SNC-RX550P network camera is a controllable pan-tilt-zoom dome camera with 360 degree endless rotation, image stabilizer, intelligent motion detection, intelligent object detection, automatic day/night switching and 2-way audio voice exchange.

High-end speed dome camera featuring an endless 360° pan 26x optical zoom and intelligent functions such as intelligent motion detection and object detection, suitable for professional, mission-critical applications. With 3 selectable video formats (JPEG, MPEG-4, H.2.64) the flexibility is provided to ensure stable, smooth streaming video is achieved regardless of bandwidth constraints. With the latest 1/4-type Exwave CCD imaging sensor the SNC-RX550P delivers exceptional image quality at a maximum resolution of 640x480 pixels (VGA) at a frame-rate of up to 25fps. Automatic day/night switching allows the camera to deliver rich color images during daylight hours to a light level of 1 lux. When the scene darkens the camera automatically switches to infrared sensitive black/white video providing images to a light level of 0.15 lux. With optional infrared illumination the camera will operate in complete darkness. Having a built-in image stabilizer reduces the effects that weather and vibrations will have on the image, further improving image quality. Users can connect an external microphone to the camera and pickup audio from the location. Also equipped with a speaker output, enabling users to send instructions or orders expanding the possibilities of remote monitoring applications. Advanced features include intelligent motion detection which reduces the number of false alarms triggered. Intelligent object detection will trigger an alarm if an object is added to a scene (in up to 4 customizable detection areas), useful for security in airports or traffic applications. 1x Compact Flash, 1x PC card expansion slots allow for additional storage of images or to add wireless connectivity. Alarm management tools allow images to be transferred by email or FTP based on motion detection or external sensor input. The Sony SNC-RX550P is an ideal professional IP camera for high-end security monitoring and recording applications and is available in a choice of finishes.
