Overview of Y-cam Black S

The Y-cam Black S provides an entry-level, night vision monitoring solution, ideal for home users or small businesses that require security monitoring 24 hours a day. The camera's 30 integrated infrared (IR) LEDs illuminate objects in view up to a distance of 50ft, catching events in complete darkness, while the 1-way audio and integrated microphone capture audible events from the area.

Recording functionality is integrated with the camera, with the NAS-Ready system which records video directly to a networked storage device, eliminating the need for a recording PC. Alternatively, the camera comes bundled with surveillance software which can monitor and record from up to 36 Y-cams simultaneously. The camera is also fully Mac compatible and also includes Mac versions of the setup and surveillance software.

Live, bandwidth-efficient images can be monitored through the camera's 3GPP cell phone browser, allowing users to monitor while away from a PC, while the Wi-Fi connection allows the camera to connect to the local network without any network cabling, simplifying installation. The compact casing is also very discreet, allowing the camera to blend in more easily with home or office surroundings.

In order to offer night viewing, this camera does not feature an infrared-cut filter. As such, images may show slight color variations during the day.
